Have a great weekend!
Mad Science
In science this week the groups were building and gardening! Bunks 1-6 learned about plants. The kids learned about the need for soil, oxygen, water, sunlight and seeds for plants to grow. Some of the kids even suggested talking to their plants to make them grow quicker. Each camper got to decorate their own pot and plant their own marigolds! We can’t wait to hear about their observations of the plants in the next few weeks. Bunks 7, 8 & 9 learned about bridges this week. We talked about different kinds of bridges, such as suspension bridges, arch bridges and truss bridges. We focused on building truss bridges, by creating triangles made of marshmallows and toothpicks. Groups of campers made bridges and then we saw how many coins the bridges could hold without breaking! We were amazing at how strong the bridges were. Most bridges held between 30-60 coins. The strongest bridge in bunk 9 held 69 coins! The campers were amazed at the strength of their own work! A great time was had by all!
